Little Bags of Life is a nonprofit organisation founded to increase awareness of aplastic anaemia and other blood disorders and to help close the information gap faced by families confronting rare and often poorly understood conditions.
At the centre of the work is a global network of donors: a blood and platelet registry that connects donors with patients who need transfusions, a bone marrow registry supporting transplant awareness, and an HLA typing campaign that expands the pool of volunteers willing to register as potential matches.
The organisation grew from the deeply personal experience of losing Brian's wife, Janet, to aplastic anaemia, and has become a platform for awareness and advocacy.
In April 2026, Brian carried the message onto the road, riding more than 300 kilometres from Nairobi to Eldoret to raise awareness of aplastic anaemia and other blood disorders.
Not everything is built for profit. Little Bags of Life exists because aplastic anaemia took Janet, and because the disease is still poorly understood.
